JACKIE LEE COCHRAN (1934-1998), also known as JACK THE CAT, grew up in the southern states of the USA and started playing guitar at the age of 6 years. With 12 years he started playing the music he liked and loved from radio airplay back then with local bands – Country Music performed by singers like HANK SNOW, BOB WILLS or HANK WILLIAMS and Rock’n’Roller like ROY ORBINSON, ELVIS or JOHNNY HORTON have an deep influence on him. This CD contains the first two LP’s „Swamp Fox“ (1974) and „Rockabilly Legend“ (1977), recorded for and released on ROLLIN' ROCK, although COCHRAN has had a single on DECCA in the meantime.

As musicians on the recording sessions participated other well known Rollin‘ Rock artists such as JIMMY LEE MASLON and RAY CAMPI. Contemporary Rockabilly und Rock’n’Roll, full of indifferent energy stands up against any modern trend, and confidently ignored that the 50s and 60s already belonged to the past. 24 outstanding Songs are the result of these two LPs which you can hear on this wonderful CD.

The extensive, 28-page booklet contains storys and linernotes written by RAY CAMPI, BOB FISH, WILD BOB BURGOS and TONY MARLOW, a biography by BERND HOLZAPFEL, many unpublished pictures and a discography of Jackie Lee Cochran with credits and details.

A perfect and passionate tribute to a great musician and true hero in the rockabilly scene.
