Aloha malahini and wahine.
Imagine the year 1958, imagine standing on the front bamboo bar and drinking some 'mai tai', maybe inside the 'Don the beachcomber' or the 'Kona Kai', surrounded by tiki idols, coloured flowers and people dressed in marvellous tropical clothes.
The hula dancers have just begun to shake their hips because the hapa-haole band 'I belli di Waikiki' has started the luau!

I belli di Waikiki formed in 2000 influenced by Elvis Presley movies. The band was immediately noticed in at the SUMMER Jamboree rockabilly festival in Senigallia in 2001. Thanks to this event, I Belli di WAIKIKI were invited to many European festivals such as: Walldorf Rock’n’Roll Weekender (DE), Brandeburger rockabilly MEETING (DE), Rhythm RIOT (GB), and many others.

In 2003 they were the first European band to play at the Tiki Weekender, the Hukilau, in Ft. Lauderdale,, Florida.  I Beilli di Waikiki was invited to play again at the Hukilau in subsequent years.

I Belli di Waikiki has played several U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Knoxville, Athens, and Orlando, Tampa, Austin, West Palm Beach and many others. In 2005 during a concert at Lido of Venice, I Belli di Waikiki was noticed by Marco Giusti who hired them for television show Isolati run by MAX Giusti and broadcast on Rai 2.  Also, in 2005, they played on a broadcast hosted by RENZO Arbore on national television.  Other small television appearances would follow.

The 2007 marks an important time for I Belli di WAIKIKI. SONY PICTURES included their track ALOHA OE in the animated movie Surf’s Up.

Thereafter, I Belli di Waikiki took a break for a few years when the upright bass player moved to Austin, TEXAS.  In 2014 the band rejoined in the studio to record their third album.   The SWATCH watch, SCUBA LIBRE, incudes a song from the band for their advertising campaign.
