Go ape! Feed the monkey!
Founded in 2010 The Gorilla Gunmen from cologne soon became a constant of the local scene.
They serve their very own version of the fifties-sound with a lot of charm and verve ever since.
Classic rock and roll is celebrated: wild, powerful and with a lot of feeling and style..This means the goal is
not the pure reproduction of an ancient sound but the exiting quest for a new sound within the genre.

„Feed the monkey“ is the longplay-debut of The Gorilla Gunmen. The cd starts with 16 bars of sound from an
old radio and after the intro the curtain opens and a journey starts through 14 originals and 2 cover-versions.
There is a lot to explore on this record because the variation of styles is widely spread. The spectrum varies from
classic rockabilly to swing, country, hard rocking rock and roll and even a little bit of punk.
The 3-piece sound of the band - sometimes nicely filled up with great saxophone-parts or other
instruments - keeps this altogether. The band is playing around with the genres without veering away too far
from their own sound. When the record ends after 50 minutes of rock and roll adventure and the barkeeper
of the “Gorilla Pub” is shouting “Feierabend” it feels as after joining a great show – coming home and falling to bed with a smile on your face.
