Recorded live, ‘the old fashioned way’ at Melbourne’s Hailstone Studios and released through Bundoora Records, The Rocky Road to Io comprises 11 original songs inspired by the great songsters of the 1940s and 50s. Coral Lee’s soulful tunes evoke the era of Doris Day and Wanda Jackson and seamlessly combine steam train rhythms, vintage vocals and gritty guitar picking. On this, her follow-up album to 2010’s Little Red Rider, Coral Lee demonstrates why she’s considered one of Melbourne’s finest female blues guitarists, swapping screaming solos with Ben Franz on the Lap Steel.

Swinging from the sides of the Rockabilly/R&B bandwagon, The Silver Scream is a collection of some of Melbourne’s favourite muso’s; Ben Hendry (Flap!) on Kit, Elise Winterflood on Double Bass and Ben Franz (The Waifs) on Lap Steel.
